“Farewell!”
“No!”
Instinctively, Fox and Krystal hugged as tight as they could and closed their eyes. But Fox could swear that he heard a third voice shout ‘no’ when they did. Then, he heard something metallic fall close to them and, moments later, the sound of the pistol being fired at them.
Fox kept hugging Krystal tightly for a few more seconds when he realized he was fine, so he opened his eyes to see how Krystal was. She had her eyes still closed and looked scared, but she was fine.
“Uh, I’m I supposed to feel something?”
Fox blinked. He didn’t expect to hear a new voice. Then, he saw Krystal’s ears move and her eyes to open wide.
“Wait! That voice! It sounds like…”
Krystal was interrupted by Derek’s angry shout. “You miserable rusted tin can, you ruined my shot!”
“Rusted tin can? Why you… Take this!”
Fox and Krystal turned right in time to see a white robot doing a flying kick to disarm Derek. Krystal’s eyes were wide open.
“No, it can’t be her!”
Fox blinked.
“Who are you talking about, Krystal?”
The robot had landed and was angrily shouting at Derek while pointing at him.
“I’m not a rusted tin can! I’m the 19th Lord of Urano’s Kingdom’s Tempest Domain, Drossel Juno Vierzehntes Heizregister Fürsting von Flügel and don’t forget it!”
“Drossel!?” Krystal was shocked. “What are you doing here?”
“Drossel?” Fox pointed at the robot. “Is this the robotic teenager you told me, Krystal?”
“Actually,” said Drossel, while still looking at Derek, “I’m a robotic teenage duchess! It’s nice to be your acquaintance, Fox McCloud. Oh! And it’s nice to see you again, Krystal!”
Derek was furious. First, his shot was ruined by a robot, which was immune to the effects of his weapon. And now, he was disarmed and facing such robot, who was also a friend of Krystal. Derek knew the moment he tried to go after his pistol, the robot and Fox would attack him. And taking Krystal as a hostage was not possible, since she was a capable fighter. For now, her high heels have prevented her to take a more active role. But Derek still had a card on his sleeve.
“Don’t be so happy, Fox! I can still call my robot to back me up!”
Drossel chuckled. “Only if Cesar doesn’t turn your robot in to scrap metal!”
Krystal blinked. “Wait! Is Cesar here, too?”
As an answer to Krystal’s question, an explosion was heard.
