Description

When Ciro Grey entered in the small clinic of the Black Ops, he wasn’t happy. At all.

He saw the medic brought by the Cornerian Intelligence to take care of the native girls and felt relieved. Maya Windstar was a kind person and a caring doctor. The captive girls were in good hands.

When Ciro got closer, Maya looked away from her clipboard.

“It’s good to see you, Coronel Grey. You came to see our, huh, guests?”

Ciro frowned. “Yes. And I swear whoever gave the orders to bring them here is going to pay! Taking Fox and Krystal is one thing, since they are mercenaries and there are few things we have against their kind. But kidnapping two native girls?”

Maya nodded. “I agree with you, sir. Anyway, the girls are fine. When I took a blood sample from Krystal, she told me their names. The cerinian girl is Marina and the red furred one is Sayira. They are the adoptive daughters of a red furred vixen named Nora. And I’m afraid she witnessed how her daughters were attacked with sleeping gas.”

“So,” said Ciro, lowering his voice, “their mother witnessed their kidnapping? That’s something else I’m going to tell to whoever ordered this mess!”

Maya nodded again. She have heard about Coronel Ciro Grey before. He believed in taking any actions needed to defeat an enemy, but he draw a line and never crossed it. The elder canine took honor very seriously and that’s one of the reasons why General Pepper put him as the head of the Black Ops teams of the Cornerian Army.

She also knew that the order to capture Fox and Krystal came from the Cornerian Intelligence, but she ignored the details. However, she knew Ciro Grey agreed on the plan reluctantly and was angry on how his orders on how to do the mission were overridden by new orders coming from Cornerian Intelligence. Someone’s head was going to roll, Maya was sure of that.

“Well,” said Maya, returning to the situation at hand, “the girls will woke up in an hour or so. They are in excellent health and will recover from the sleeping gas without trouble. But, when I analyzed a blood sample from them I found something strange. Their DNA is of cornerian origin, sir!”

Ciro blinked. “Wait! What?”

Maya sighed. “That was my reaction, sir. I double checked the results. They’re correct. With your permission, I want to speak with Krystal and Fox about this. Perhaps they know more about this.”

Ciro shook his head. “I have the feeling they ignore this. However, we lose nothing and, after all of this, they deserve to know. Please take the girls to Krystal and Fox when you’re finished. I’m going to see where they’re going to stay until we can power up our warp pad again. After that, I’m going to have a long talk with someone!”
