Description The second page for Shifters: Redux's first chapter "Heirloom". I put this up because of the backgrounds. Rather proud of em considering I normally suck ass at them.

I'm not putting every page here, just select pages, so if you want to follow the comic, I'd suggest viewing the comic site which is here: www.shiftersonline.com or shifters.comicgen.com

Whichever one is working for you.

Although I've got some pages after this one.

The bionic arm looks kinda awkwardly posed - mostly it appears to be behind her butt, which is a rather odd place.

Though looking at it in detail, maybe it's just that the line from her butt and the line from the arm are very similarly angled that's making it look weird.

Otherwise very good! I'm interested in seeing how the characters and setting are developed in the redux.

This is really nice. ^^ I like how you did the watch and that girls bionic arm. (It is right? Or is it some kind of metal sleeve...? O.o) Anyway, it looks really good.

Great job! and even though it has taken donkey years to do the backrounds, the work and effortreally shows that much I can say.

Keep up the brilliant work!

Man, your art is looking so awesome nowadays! Mangastudio, eh? Do you draw the lineart with it as well?

Thanks. Yeah. This is 100% digitally drawn, inked and shaded. It has a pretty steep learning curve, but once you get over that, it does some VERY interesting things.

Although I still do the shading in PS. I haven't figured out the toning to a point where its useful yet. Drawing, yes, inking yes, toning, no.

Looks like it's off to a good start. I got a question though- is that a tattoo or some kind of holographic watch? I'd also ask who that is, but I think that'll be answered in the next page. Good luck!

Actually, its kinda a bit of both. A mirco thin, hypoallergenic, flexible LCD like plastic is placed just below the top layers of skin so that the glow shows through. Its programed, so it actually IS a watch. But it glows through the skin and can change with the tap of the appropriate place. It also does other things, which will be explained later. As to who it is.. well I thought it was obvious, but apparently I'm wrong.

Actually, I had a good idea who it was. But come next page, I'll know for sure. Pretty neat idea, that watch thing, whatever you call it. Very creative. (Gotta wonder how you get one of those in there, though...) Oh, and thanks for taking the time to reply.

Pretty easy. You make a tiny insision and slip it under the skin. Apply a bit of regenerative salve and voila, not even a scar. I can't take credit for the idea, as its been around for a while in Cyberpunk RPGs. Its sometimes called a "light tattoo" or "skinwatch", in those games.
