Description This is a minor character that I created on-the-spot. She's a royal bad-ass and doesn't let anyone tell her what to do. But, she's sweet when she's content with what's around her. When things start to change, however, all hell  will  break loose.
P.S. her name is pronounced "phase".

Colored pencils, crayons, markers, and other kinds of physical media are all so difficult to work with, at least compared to digital. I still can't find a good way of filling in large areas without unintentional shading issues...

For a simple sort of sketch though, this one isn't too bad I think!

Eh, thanks, I think?
I like everything but her hair. I need to get the patterns better. I hate doing digital art, the old fashion stuff is my one and only style unless it's like bg manips.

I guess I'm just not sure how else to acknowledge all of the minor things that could be improved upon with practice but are partially because of the nature of physical media. Most of it I'm sure you're probably aware of anyway.

What do you not like about the hair? Is it too big and wide?

Well, I've been doodling for as long as I can remember, and I've always disliked my work, but I've decided not to care when people bash me. I don't think you are, so I'm not talking about you - I just mean in general. But you're right, practice is needed, and I'm not afraid to admit I need to learn better tricks. However, I disagree with your conclusion that it's partly because of it being traditional art. I'll always admire traditional artists more than I'll ever be able to admire digital artists(not bashing, just my personal opinion here). If you're doing traditional art, your hands are your best tools. A pencil, a pen, and a paintbrush are the original art, and I want to hold onto what remains of the origins. The nature of physical media is the individual's signature, and that's very, VERY important. No one can replicate your little hiccups in your hand-done arts. Online, people have all the same tools. A human hand will always move in its own nature, and the patterns or marks we leave by accident are what make that piece ours, and they can never be copied by using software.
Sorry for ranting, but the real art will forever to me by physical and traditional. I've tried digital art, but I feel so detached and I get no pleasure doing it. But please, don't be afraid to give me your honest opinions and criticism. I have my rooted opinions, but that doesn't mean I won't listen and respect other's opinions.

Yeah, wide. It's wide, which is fine, but the detail lacking bothers me, haha.
