Amy regretted it. She so regretted not being able to help Shadow through these depressed times. He was always down lately….because the anniversary of Maria’s death was coming up. She felt so helpless just watching him as he looked up into the sky longingly. Maybe she could help him….but would he just push her away?

“Shadow….if theres any way….can I help…sortof….well…”

She fummbled her words. Why was she so nervous now? he’d always been a friend. He was always a quiet person, but still her friend. She wanted to be able to listen to him, but when she did, what could she possibly say?

To live purely, I turn my back
Without looking back and leave
on the lonely rail

“….I don’t need to tell you…it’s just going to be a burden.
"Go to Sonic, you don’t need to comfort me.” Shadow replied as he continued in his sad remniscing.

“….but….I wanna help you…beacause…well…”

I’ll follow you
No matter how bitter it is, even within the darkness of the world
Surely, you’re shining

“I think that I should be able to do something! After all….nobody should be alone. You…You’re a good person!! You helped me become a bit stronger…” Amy exclaimed as a small nervous blush crept across her face.

“No….I didn’t….Go on Amy….” Shadow said as he turnned to her slightly.

“No way! I wanna be there for you! I wanna be by your side, and learn all about you! I’ll make you smile!! I promise!!” Amy exclaimed with a determined look on her face, although still wavering.

Surprised at her sudden shouting, Shadow found himself laughing his heart out. His sudden laughter caused her to have a slightly frazzled look on her face. This look then turnned into a smile.

“I did say I could make you smile!” She exclaimed hapily.

I’ll overcome the limit of the future
So that my soul won’t be destroyed due to my weaknesses
my ways will overlap
Now, God bless us two…

Shadow began to talk about himself. About Maria. About how important she had been, and is still to him. Amy listened to him as he spoke on, making her feel as if she was a part of his memory, drifting into time. Everthing but him disapeared around her. It was like their own private world.

Thoughts that grow hot when delivered
Melt into reality and wander
There’s no reason to my feeling like seeing you
It overflows to you, Lovin’ you

It was sad. His sadness filed her as he spoke about his memory of death, his mobid visons, how his vengence once seized him. it was as if he was reading a story to her, he spoke out, leaving no detail behind. Amy could somehow understand it. Such a powerful emotion, so much different from Sonic….so much deeper…eminating from Shadow as he spoke.

At the very least, while I only draw
A beautiful dream, I’ll chase you
for your lonely heart

“….Amy…I would say that I’m glad you can listen. I would love to become closer to you…but really…I’m a machine. A bio weapon.One day….I will break. I never know when. I just…” Shadow narrowed his eyes in thought.

“Shadow!” Amy exclaimed in a pout.

Their space was quiet. They were in the park in Station Square, all alone. The sun was sinking in behind the tall buildings onward. Wind sliently swept through. The silence made her so nervous...it was as if they were their own world.

"Well, I love you...more than a friend! Shadow....I know it's sudden and all but....I love you a lot!...even though here and there you do cause some pain....I do love you!" Amy exclaimed, suprising Shadow in the utmost.

While I draw the beauty of a faint dream
I trace my scars

"....I....Rose....well....Amy....I hold you dearly too. I'm glad to be able to talk to you. I'm glad you understand. I'm glad...I can love you." Shadow said with a blush on his otherwise serious face.

"...Then it's settled! I'll always be with you! We can always talk because it's good to have someone there for you! I just....I love you!" Amy exclaimed hapily as he arms encirlced around Shadow, who fell over in suprise.

"Wait! Rose, get off first!"

"Call me Amy, silly! haha!!"
