Description
There is a touch of insanity to this one. The story behind this illustration is a little tragic, though I suppose it is also there as a lesson (though I am entirely unsure as to what that lesson might be).The guy goes on a journey to find the fountain of youth, though he mistook the name of it and was unaware that he was traveling to the cursed "Waters of Eternity". At the base of the fountain, a phrase was carved: "Take care, the Waters of Eternity." He ignored the goblet that sat aside the fountain and drank with his hands, letting it run down his face and body. To his dismay, all of him that touched the water withered and shriveled into a twisted, blackened form, an abominative terror.
He has no lips and his teeth turned to long fangs, as his hands turned to claws, etc. etc. Had he used the goblet and not squandered the waters, he would not have become disfigured; however, no matter the means of consuming the waters of eternity, one is always left entirely hollow, unable to live, unable to die.
[Edit: Adjusted levels so graphite contrast comes out more like ink, leaving it more defined, as it should be.]

This is very eye-catching in its simplicity and technique. I just wish it were larger!

Thank you. Unfortunately, I have a problem drawing larger pieces... Most all of my works are ridiculously diminuitive, but I suppose that is how it goes. :\

True, it can be difficult to break from one comfortable mold into a new format.

Well, I used to draw in a more traditional form (largely in lineart and then in total value) before I made the switch to this drawing style; however, whenever I draw in this style, I tend to be in a sort of frenzy, which never lasts long enough to finish a piece. I think I'll try a larger drawing sometime.

Good luck with that.
