Horns:
variant 1-common- normal horns that curve up at the end.
variant 2-uncommon- straight horns
variant 3-rare- ridged horns that curve up, used to be seen more in royal bloodlines hundreds of years ago, but became rare within recent years

Tails:
variant 1-common- fins on either side of tail
variant 2-rare- a stinger/barb on the end of the tail that resembles that of a stingray
variant 3-uncommon- longer fins

Markings:
variant 1-common-
variant 2-uncommon-
variant 3 -ultra rare- royalty markings

colors:

Saltwater:
common- bright blues,greens,or purples
uncommon- greys, black, pastels, pink and orange (bright orange shallowwings are often times feared because of viperfish (a shallowwing that nearly destroyed the whole tribe))
Ultra rare: Red- Red used to be the color of most royal shallowwings thousands of years ago but that knowledge was later forgotten. Any red shallowwings are descendants of the old royal bloodlines.

About the shallowwings:

Appearance: mostly blue or green or purple (but can be any color). Brighter colors when hatched in saltwater. More dull colors in freshwater. Spines with webbing in between. At the end of the spines there are bulbs. The bulbs and if they were born with markings are luminescent but cannot be forced to glow like Seawing markings.

Abilities: amazing swimmers. No gills bit can hold their breath for 2 hours. Very skilled fighters. similar to seawings they are more powerful/heal faster in water. most shallowwings have a venomous bite, but a more rare trait is a stinger on the end of its tail (similar to stingrays).
