AddictionI am a junkie, I am sad to say
I have these cravings that wont go away
Filled with these thoughts, day after day
Constantly ready for the next fix to play
Addiction it is, yet there is no clinic
Damn these withdrawals, too deep within it
Shaking so badly the whole world does spinith
Yet all of this time I shall play the cynic
Despite my protests I need to adore
Constant ministrations and petting galore
Soothing and salving such tortured souls
Gazing and holding and feeling the warmth
Energy rushes through long barren pathways
Heart beating faster blood rushing hungrily
Into long starving organs and tissue a slumber
Heat rushing through steaming highways
Heat feeds more heat, melting into each other
Feelings colliding sparks send a blaze roaring over
The sound of blood pounding through the eardrums
In tempo in the temples, befuddled thoughts
Random chaos
Cannot think
Feel!
Rushing upon a wave from my toes to my head
Energy!
I have been starving, and did not know it until now
Feather touch upon cheekbones, shivers dancing upon sounds
Quivering delicately, fluttering such as a captured bird, wings pound
My heart against my ribcage, birds become unbound
Butterflies are free within my veins
Rushing warmly against my skin
Blushing slightly sensations sinking in
To my pores, stroking fires roaring akin
To the blood roaring through my ears singing again
Astride upon the wave
Holding each closer
Than from one heart beat
To the next one
Tingling from head to toes
My god she touched my cheek with those
Delicate fingertips, dancing lightly, ever slow
A butterfly kiss, the fix makes me glow
I have an addiction.
Of loves constant thrill.
Energy addiction
And it haunts me still.

"And it haunts me still" - such a beautiful finish to such a stirring poem. There are such threads of hope and love here. It truly warms me. I had such an addiction once - and it was love. I've never gotten over it - perhaps I never will. Well done friend.

I don't think I have read this great of a poem in a long time. I really like the ryhming style. And, I agree. The adrenaline rush you get from having your crush smile at you in the hallway, or having someone hold you.....*shuts up*
