Following the steps
We’ve covered before
Feeling those slips
While falling some more

When will it end?
The cycle turns anew
Beating hearts mend
Broken lives bruise

The fear is the same
Just a different date
Yet no one’s to blame
There’s none left to hate

Circling around and around
Spinning out of control
Fools fall to the ground
Groping blindly through this hole

Same song, same dance
The ride is getting old
Same ending, yet same glance
Looking back to days of old

Things change yet stay the same
I just want off this set of rides
Soaring up into the pain
Landing harshly onto the waysides

Bridges burning that taste of ash
Yet the bridge still remains
New becomes old in the latest fashion
Present repeats past while remaining sane

Lots yet to learn in both sets of lives
Love covers nothing
And paystubs don’t allow for lies
Forgive all for something

Bent but not broken
Just tattered and sore
Just bearing this token
Of love lost and forlorn

Be thankful for the good times
Give thanks where its due
Be mindful of the bad times
And learn from those too

Things will be mended
Hearts will be healed
Love ran from will be tended
And souls light to be revealed
