Description Spaces Between

Stand upon philisophical meanderings
Lost astride the lows and highs of a mind wandering
Pondering thoughts of higher morality
Often forgetting of feeling's vitality
And my heart tends to be left astray...

I see you
I hear you
But can't really feel you
Damming it all, I cannot even trust you
your voice comes from so far away

aloft within the mind
It's harder to find
deep rooted emotions
buried deep down inside.
nothing is felt but a dull ache deep within the center of my chest

No pleasure
No pain
it all stays the same
it's all kept so deep, kept deep in the blame
stretching towards you to bridge the spaces between you and me

I feel your warmth
I smell your scent
but is it my nose smelling it?
Is it my hand that's touching you?
Struggling up from the depths of within
The weight of the ages of torment within
weighing me down in this prison within
pain and the pressure just building within

yet can someone hear the scream
when there is so much space between
you and i, bursting the seams
falling to pieces for no one to see

sometimes it not worth the effort
to bridge the ever widening gap
to make that connection, to have rapport
to take the time to feel, is it?
to feel the spaces between all of the cracks within one's heart.

I'm sorry it took me so long to comment on this. I'm not sure why I did exactly. I think I've read it about 5 times now, though. I guess I wanted to get the full grasp off this poem and wanted to give it my full attention. Which I can honestly say it has now.

I must say I truly like this poem. It has a good message. Why should we try to build a bridge when the distance will just continue to grow? It has a feeling of hope, but it seems to fail. Questions are being asked. We wonder why we try so hard to be close to someone when they just pull further away.

Perfect poem.

you try to build the bridge again no matter how hard. In time, we all have to heal.

If there is one thing I have continued to learn it's how to heal. To forgive and forget. *smiles*

Beautiful. I think I may have found some inspiration from this one.

I'm ok at it. It could be a lot better. I want tears to flow and laughter to sing. *laughs* i want people to see, hear, smell, taste, feel everything that i do.

That I know and understand. I try to write to people's emotions. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm still learning.

The secret to doing that is to feel those emotions as you write them.

And that I try to do. But it doesn't always work. When I'm writing a story or something, it needs to be the characters writing it, or it doesn't feel 'real'. It ends up being forced. By letting the characters write it through me, it feels like I'm getting the right emotions out on paper. You know what I mean?
