Description
Walking the PathA weary soldier slowly falls to his knees at a nearby stream within an unnamed forest cloaked within the mists. After drinking his fill from the clear blue waters, he silently contemplates his reflection and the past that is reflected within.
…Having walked this beaten path for many years, wondering down this familiar lane countless times behind me, a new direction not seen before has come before me. My clothing has become dust layered from many miles that lay behind me. My spine has become bent with the weight of a troubled past, and regret’s presence presses upon my weary body. Countless soles have I tattered and shredded, laden with grime and heart’s blood. Yet at this crossroad I am given the opportunity to lay my burden down within the past, to fade away with time’s passing and regret’s demise. So I place this burden down at long last, standing tall for the first time in a decade. Countless battles were waged, blades broken and shields shattered. Still I am here. This path has taken me as far as it can, now it is time to part ways. I still have many comrades upon the path behind me, to them I give them my best wishes and my blessing to live their lives as they see fit. Our time together upon that path has ended, as responsibilities carry us down different ways. Perhaps happiness shall lay her loving gaze down upon them, as they so richly deserve. With a carefully contemplated action for the best of all;
I walk away, following where my path shall take me. The mists swirl and all becomes a memory to slowly fade within time…
The soldier slowly regains his feet, straightening his shoulders and with a slow, precise gait, steps unto the branching path, leaving his battered weaponry upon the beaten path behind him.

It sings with something that I can't quite name. I suppose that digging deep will do that for a piece.

It was time to unbury it to see the light of day, then release it. It sings of quite a lot of things from me.

It often gets to that point. The need to release some deep part of you. The songs from the deepest reaches are always the msot beautiful 👍: 0 ⏩: 1

*laughs* you're one of those types? Always fun, until the dogs join in, then it gets scary. I try to stick to playing music too. My cats don't appreciate most of my singing attempts. heh.

i'm fine as long as i have an original singer to sing with as reference, to know what notes should be sung inside of the melody. I noticed that my cats just looked at me funny and left the room. *grins*

*laughs* I'm not too bad either way. Better if I have notes to match. But then, who isn't? *grins*
