It's actually pretty cool!
I loved those scenes from the manga (Red vs. Giovanni, Yellow vs. Lance) because at one point in each, it looks like they actually have wings! You can't get more epic then making it look like the main character suddenly grew wings! (And a tail, in Red's case.)
