Description TOP:
After the arrival of the refugees, the United Nations and its member nations made amazing advancements and gave the refugees a home (not all nations such as Russia, United States, China, North Korea etc.). After two centuries the International Space Force, the United Nation's space military encountered the GGA or Greater Galactic Alliance. To describe in the simplest terms is that they are all ass-holes. They tried to force the United Nations and its member nations, (even the Australian Colonial Union and the German Stellar Reich, who were some of the most powerful members of the United Nations) to join the GGA and bend to their galactic law, only to fail and have the United Nations do things that made the GGA seem bad, a civilisation about to be invaded for no reason? Protect the weak!, refugees? Now they are citizens of the United Nations member nations (that accepted). They even stopped the GGA from bringing a small civilisation in its early space age to extinction. They began to rival the GGA in more ways than one...

This was an idea I had after watching a video by a youtube channel called Templin Institute. Not sure if I will develop it further.

BOTTOM: Terran Nautical vessels

The Terran United Federation's Planetary Defence and Reactionary Forces use nautical navies on inhabited worlds to protect them as well as defensive space fleets above colonised worlds. One of many vessel classes they use is the Ardent-Class Destroyer, armed with four dual railgun batteries, 30 missile silos (four missiles each) and nine nuclear missile bays as well as over 16 flak guns (flak being used in atmosphere and Gatling Cannons being used in space for point-defence). The Ardent-Class had a singular landing pad for four jet fighters and a couple dropships. One such ship of its class was the TSS: Poseidon, which defended the planet of Juno from the Garaleth 2nd Purge Fleet and its forces for months alone.

Then we have the Trident-Class Missile Submarine, with no rail-guns and only missiles as an armament, about 20 missile sills (eight missiles per silo) and four Nuclear Missile Bays (four nukes per bay). However it had a good enough communications and sensor range for Surface to Orbit missile launches and was able to coordinate with space fleets in the next system alone. It was also pretty well hidden as plasma weapons had trouble targeting in watery environments. Something the Garaleth didn't try to fix.
