Description
Another of the Zar Yun Empire's more modern warships, the Kwang-Class has seen extensive modifications since its original introduction since the 25th Century, the Kwang-Class was at first just put in a support role but when the Zar Yun-Orion Arm War began in 2861, many of them were destroyed in their role. However a competent admiral started utilising the vessels as ambush ships, copying the Orion Arm Republic's tactics, using their ICVs as both an defensive and offensive assets. The Kwang-Class is 120 Metres long.Armed with 12 multi-munitions Space Torpedo launchers, two Single-Barrel Medium Railguns (25th Century era), 14 Laser PDCs and 14 CIWS turrets. It requires a crew of 12 (after a serious amount of modifying). The Kwang-Class is crewed by twelve (more than the usual eight person crew of most ICVs), the Kwang-Class' manufacture was at first rather slow when many of the Zar Yun Empire's rather incompetent admirals valued the larger ships more, forgetting the fact that they cannot stand up to modern warships of similar size, until Admiral Cherol Borlas decided that would no longer be the case, as the Zar Yun-Orion Arm Way began, Admiral Cherol has the majority of his fleet be ICVs and engaged in hit and run tactics against Orion Arm forces with high amounts of success, but with high casualty rates as well.
This sort of strategy would begin to be adopted by other fleets, especially above Nenekos, allowing the Zar Yun Empire to buy needed time in order to fight properly. However this became much more difficult with the involvement of the Australian Colonial Commonwealth and the appearances of Insurgencies and rebellions.
