Your picture is beautiful! The vision is well done and very Bambi-like! I'd put in all 5 stars on Technique and Vision due to how well done the picture in the category. I adore how you colored the background! Makes me wonder how long it takes to study the anatomy of a Bambi-like deer body. Couldn't be just a few months! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/x/x⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="93" title="XD"/> I'm so glad this is not a photo edit! There's too many of those weird photo edits! Originality with 4 1/2 stars due to obvious resemblance to the Great Prince of the Forest. However, it might be normal for Bambi-like deer to look like this and it was intended to be Disney-like, so I only took a half a star. 5 stars with Impact. I like to see more Bambi-like or Disney-like deer pictures as great as this. I agree with people who think Photo Editing a picture just to make OCs is just not as creative as actually drawing the OC at all and this picture is a great addition of Original Works Disney-related/Bambi-related that are not photo edits! Good job on your work!

Wow! I like your artist. It look like Bambi's father. You doing great job that I ever see this before. I like bambi. I am good artist too. You are very good artist. I love spirit, bambi, and other animals. I love to see po and tigress who love together. When i was 6 years old, i was drawing picture of deer or horse from movies, my dad told me that i'm good artist. You are so cool!
My name is Kayla. I'm 17 years old. I went to high school.
But wait a sec! Is that a female deer?!?!?!

Thank you for your kind words But no, he is definitely a male, just quite slender.

oh I understand. Sorry. The body look like female deer, but almost look like male deer. I like deer so much. I ask my mom about if a deer look female and she said yes. I think she is wrong. Lol. I think that deer is a male.

The Bambi style holds very feminine facial structures for all their deer (with large eyes, noticeable eyelashes, a small snout, and slender points), and it doesn't help that the legs are impossibly slim. But the main thing that separates male and female deer in Disney's style is the thickness of the neck and of course the obvious antlers

yep. I like deers. When I was 9 years old, I was drawing a deer and color a deer was black. Next years later, my grandpa saw a real black male and female deers in forest and he take picture of them. I though black deer was not real...

Is that supposed to be Bambi or The Great Prince of the Forest? (Just want to say that both Bambi and his dad have brown eyes, like in the film.)

This is someone's original character in the style of Disney's Bambi the animated movie, so it is neither Bambi or his father

But their eyes are brown, not blue.

Yes, because as I stated above, this is neither Bambi or his father. It is a different character

What brushes did you use for the grass? Β I've always wanted my scenery like how they did in Bambi/2 ;;

I did not use any special brushes for this piece for this piece actually. I just used the regular smooth brushes and the blur tool (which are standard) in SAI

It really seems like this could be Faline's father (or Gobo's and Faline's from the book). So cool.

I used to have a rabbit named Rabscuttle. He was El-ahrairah's friend and Captain of his Owsla in the book Tales from Watership Down.

For a first attempt at Disney style, this is great! I almost thought it was a screenshot taken from the movie when I saw it in my submissions. Very nice. And I love the blue flower detail in the background that I just noticed, so teensy :3

I think it doesnΒ΄t require too much of a talent to imitate DisneyΒ΄s style, but as far as I know the background fits the style pretty well and I take that for much harder to do. Very nice! ... There is just one thing I would like to point out and which we, the film makers, are very careful not to do - Background is nicely blurred but because the character is sharp so the forefront should be.
