Description
The purple guards served as the main defense force for important military bases and laboratories where secret experiments of high importance were carried out.
Some units of the purple guard were also placed to protect the cloning factories of the Kamino.
The clones that formed the purple guard were trained only in hand-to-hand combat and equipped with cortose teams. In addition, guards also carried shields of personal energy that were powerful enough to deflect lightsaber attacks.
During order 66, several of these clones were tasked with executing the jedis that were present in the various different facilities that were protected by the purple guard.

Clones and non-clones were distinguished from each other by their slightly different helmets of the armor.
