3rd POV and 2 weeks later…

Rain was something rare in the desert. So rare, it was hell when it came down and it freaking stung. Y/n frowned at her phone or more specifically the text her father had just sent her. ‘El Jefe called. Needed to meet him in Vegas. SorryloveyouL’. The one day she really needed a ride. Now she stood in soaked desert BDU pants and a Shrillex t-shirt, waiting for a ride that would never come.

“Better start walking home” Y/n started her long trek down the swamped highway. In the desert, the earth is so packed and dry; the water doesn’t saturate it at first causing flooding and huge puddles. A black muscle car sped by, creating a wave of dirty water.

“Vince!” the now grimy female screamed at the cackling boy. Head down and jaw clenched, she thought of all the non gory torture methods she could before another car drove up beside her.

“Y/N? Is that you?” Jack asked from the driver’s side of a white Indy 500 racecar with blue and red decals.

“Where the hell did you get that thing?” was her only response. Jack rolled his eyes and stopped the car. “Get in”

“I don’t want to mess up the interior plus I got like two miles to go” Y/N smiled (a fake smile) ‘two plus ten is more like it’. The boy grabbed something from the back seat and threw it at her; a towel. Y/N dropped her backpack on the passenger floor and dried off as much as she could before stepping into the racecar. Y/N cringed as her wet cloths made squishing noises.

“Don’t worry. I’ll clean it later.” Jack tapped the steering wheel. Was he talking to her? Y/N shrugged. Well there wasn’t anyone else to talk to. Jack took a peek at the shivering female and wondered what she was doing in the middle of nowhere. “So where do you live?”

“The old observatory north of here”

“That’s at least twelve miles, Y/N. Wait, you live in the old observatory?” The male’s mouth fell open. He had been there once, just exploring. That place was a dump and probably haunted.

“The old man’s job sent us here. Speaking of which, he is the reason I’m in this situation. I’ma kill ‘im when he gets back.” the two teens laughed but the moment didn’t last long. Jack’s car swerved as a black and purple sports car rammed into the rear. Both humans were thrown forward, seatbelts knocking the wind out of them.

“What the f-” Y/N turned around to see the attacking car just as it transformed into a 20 something foot robot. The girl sat back down, face set in a scowl, “Explain. Now.”

“Um…whoa!!!” the car swerved again as the robot shot at it. Y/N suddenly felt weightless as Jack’s own car transformed into a robot.

“Jack!” she screamed, not knowing how to deal with the ordeal. The dark hair boy just stared at her with a worried expression.

“I’ll explain later. Smokescreen, you got this?” The said robot laughed and set the humans on the ground before pulling out a large blaster. Two shots and the dark robot was down and ‘Smokescreen’ gave them a proud smirk.

“That answer your question?” the large bot glanced at Y/N and groaned, “Great another one. Primus I sound like Ratchet now.”

The ride to the base was quiet. Too quiet for Smokescreen so he decided to strike up a conversation with the new human. He adjusted his mirror to get a better look at her only to find her glaring at Jack. She must have been pissed or scared or both. Maybe if he got her talking, she’d feel better.

“So you’re the Y/N that stood up for Raf?” Y/N stiffened and whipped her head toward the voice. “Yes, that would be me, girly”

“What are you?”

“I am a Cybertroian. Boss bot will explain the rest to you. Speaking of which, we’re here” A large door on the side of the butte opened up and Smokescreen entered. After the doors closed, he drove the teens to the rec-room where most of the team was located.

“Dude why are you so… oh no” Miko gasped. Y/N’s eyes widened. ‘she’s in this too! Who else? Raf?’ she looked up and saw the preteen sitting on the couch.

“Well that answers my question” she whispered to herself as she exited the car/robot. A red and white robot walked into the room, face glued to a tablet. Noticing the commotion, he looked up and immediately saw Y/N.

“NOT ANOTHER ONE?!” He growled and left (probably not wanting to deal with another annoying human). Miko snickered and poked Y/N’s still damp shoulder. “I like today’s shirt too”.

“Thanks…what is this place?”

“This is the Autobot base of operation”. A deep voice responded. All heads whipped around to the leader whom kneeled in front of Y/N. “I am Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. We are here to defend the Earth and defeat the Decepticons who threaten you planet. Unfortunately, you have been targeted by them.”

“Why…?”

“You were spotted in an autobot, making them believe that you are our ally. This now puts you at a risk and for that I apologize.”

“So what now?” the H/C female asked still amazed with the world she had just been pulled into. Jack, Miko and Raf came up from behind her, smiling. Oh no…

“Now I must assign a guardian to you.”
