...so over the weekend I went to a flower-arranging class in my mother's stead (she wanted to go shopping for sewing supplies). It was nice, if a little awkward due to everyone else there not being my age. I've been picking off some of the petals from the flowers to dry between book pages. The bouquet itself is due to last another two and a half weeks!

Also I finally picked up origami again after spending heaven knows how much time drowning in academic unease. I miss the feel of the paper at my fingertips--it's uncanny that all the origami paper I've purchased recently is rougher and thicker than the sheets from a set I received several years ago as a graduation gift. Those days were happier too.

These chains are made with beads and origami. The small spacer pieces are connected Sonobe units , specifically the 3-unit Toshies's Jewel . The flowers are a modified lily/iris design .
