Description
Another painting finished at Animazement 2010. He's kind of concerned about something.. D:Watercolor and white ink on watercolor paper.
---
Hey, whoa, I got DD'd while I was away at Dragon*Con D:
Thank you very much for that, and for all of your comments! A lot of you have asked similar questions, so I will try to explain a little bit about the painting process I used and about the white ink either here or in an entry... One day I'll try a tutorial, but I'm not very good at those;;
For the moment, if you'd like to know, most of my watercolor technique is based on the teachings of Lian Zhen ( [link] <-- his page here), who is a -huge- inspiration to me. I can only hope to be as skilled as he is one day... He has published a number of books, I recommend them highly.
Also, you can credit for introducing me to Doctor PH Martin's Pen White ink, which is what I used to do the highlights/white lines on this picture.
More later!

I cannot fault this at all. The curiosity is clear in the eyes o the little critter and I love it. Naturally this knocks at my artist's self esteem a little but it is so worth looking at something this epic!!! ksfndjnjgnjnsjsgnjnjs vj yeah little spasm there but *sigh* amazing

This is so cute.
I haven't tried the white gel pens yet. It's on my list of To-do's. I've still suffered through preserving all of the whites of the paper. They look fun whenever I've seen them used. I do wonder though, if they are bright white and completely cover colored areas, or if they are anything like white gouache, which rarely does.

Oh the colors, the colors. @_@
I am hypnotized. I love this so much. This is a coy fish, right? I always find them to be so mystical and elegant. This one is no exception. Amazing work.

I adore the colours and the "mildly distressed" look on the koi's face. So cute

Love the wild play of colours! And the way you've managed to arrange the fish's features to register a cute, human expression.... ^^
