Well, who doesn't get upset after you spend days or weeks on some drawing and people don't appreciate it and prefer to go for cheap stuff?
I understand how you must feel, because I feel exactly the same. But We should add our experience on the top of that because we are veterans x'Dand have been much longer in this community, right?
Bet your statistics are higher than mine hahahaha Honestly, it doesn't matter really. Everyone has got their time of fame here, mine has passed over 6-7 years ago. Not sure about you, but can see most of our arts are recognized from 2010/11 the latest. It's good to support each other in the times like this.
Feels like Sonic is no longer popular, at least not as much as it used to be. Have you ever thought of drawing something else for a change? I was so frustrated yesterday I grabbed my pencil and made a huge art with Spyro, Crash, Mario, Ratchet and a few different characters. Try out something new, refreshing

I draw different things ^^ Have more other characters, own species, antro and etc, but... No one wants it. My audience here is sonic fans so I often to think create another account with that. I have FA but there is more worse than here xD

Statistics are important... but not so much. To me... what matters is WHO follows me. Because then if I see someone following me that means they want to become friends and not only share art together but talk about everything and anything. That's how you learn from each other, expand your knowledge etc C:
Favs... are more or less important but let's not get into that topic now because I will vanish from this world again and lock myself frustrated in another dimension for another 5 years xD yea... not cool, not cool at all.

I don't really believe in statistics. Like... I have almost 1000 watchers, but the activity among them is extremely small. If there are 2-3 comments I will be gladΒ Β

I see where you're coming from saying that... For me it's around 2/3 of my watchers that I have that are inactive. It's easy to judge when you post stuff and see who follows you and leaves comments, true.
I don't mind them, but really I want to watch and be watched by people I like to talk to and we share similar styles/likes
I try to draw only officials, the only time I'm gonna do fcs are for ATs or collabs unless we decide that we want an official character on their own or with a fc. Do you do the same?

And yes, we should try to communicate as much as we can, but sometimes it's just like you said - lack of time. University kicks my butt this week incredibly hard. I fall asleep on the buses to uni and back home, and lectures are a nightmare - take forever sometimes.
I don't draw fcs very often - I used to in the past tho. I see your point. Drawing them is okay but it's something you do just for yourself and the others and you don't really benefit much from it... whilst drawing the officials... well...
Let's say there are 2 groups of artists: one that draws ocs and their fcs and other people's fcs (comms etc) and the other one doing majority of ocs only - which is you and me. I want to be recognized as a sonic artist who draws official artwork, i don't want anyone to come to me and say oh! look at her! she's this or that character! - there's much more to it i think... Can do it only in art trades - this is probably the only way to receive something from someone for free...Β
