Ch. 2
After the light had faded away, the ebony hedgehog cracked open one of his eyelids to see nothing but a thick fog in the air. Pressing his eyebrows together, he sat up and squinted trying to see in front of him. Failing to see anything ahead of him, he stood up and skid down the cliff into Central City. Once he reached the streets, he stopped dead in his tracks. The once prosperous city was in ruins. Buildings were in pieces, the roads were cracked in several places, and there were what seemed like destroyed machinery. Regaining his composure, the hedgehog began running toward the G.U.N. HQ. He doubted it had survived, but he thought someone might know what was going on. ‘What happened? I could have sworn I closed my eyes for no more than a minute. And even if something did happen, I would have heard it. Was I knocked out? No, I did not feel anything hit me…. What is going on??’
Arriving at his destination, the male hedgehog’s guess was right. The building was still standing, but clearly was in fear of collapsing at anytime. The owner of the green emerald decided to enter and look for clues. ‘It looks like this place was abandoned years ago. .’ Hopping from ledge to ledge of the broken floors, the ebony hedgehog continued his search of the abandoned base.

Blinded by the light, the ivory hedgehog shielded his eyes. Once it had faded, he opened his eyes, continually blinking, in hopes of regaining his sight. Slowly but surely, the world around the telekinetic came back to view, except it looked nothing of what he remembered. The once grassy, rolling plains were now burnt, desolate wastelands. Alarmed by what he saw, Silver quickly turned behind him. The two females and chao that were previously behind him were nowhere to be found. He young rabbit’s house was gone except for a few burnt stones. “Wha…What happened?” Dumbfounded, the ivory hedgehog sprinted to find some form of life. Or for someone to tell him what was going on.
As he ran, flashes of his old home that was affected by Iblis ran through his mind. The collapsed buildings, the burning lava, the dominant fire-god declaring which shelter would be destroyed and which will be spared for that day while the few survivor hid in fear. “No…I won’t let this happen. I won’t let this world be destroyed too!” Picking up in speed, Silver jumped into the air and caught himself in his signature neon-turquoise aura and flew away, trying to find some sense in this broken reality.

Since the light blinded him so much that he couldn’t see where he was running, the blue blur stopped dead in his tracks and shut his eyes tight, instinctively clutching the cyan emerald tighter. After about 30 seconds, the light faded away and Sonic opened his eyes. He had never seen his world more destroyed than when the god Chaos was unleashed on Station Square. “Woah…what?” Despite the place originally being in ruins, the wildlife that sprouted through the cracks and the scattered bushes and trees were completely demolished, burnt to a crisp. It almost appeared as if a nuclear bomb had gone off in the area. There was nothing. No life, no echidna ruins, just a whole lot of nothing.
His first instinct was to run, and that’s just what he did. He ran and ran, taking his the horrific sights that surrounded him. “There was a flash of light, but that was only for like, what, a second? Nothing can destroy a place THAT fast! Well, except me of course. Stop it! This is not a time for sarcastic-one-liners! I’m the hero! I need to figure out what just went down!” He increased his speed ad headed to the next closest place he could think of.

Still searching for his answers, the blood-red stripped hedgehog climbed higher and higher until he reached what recently was the floor of the Commander’s office. ‘If there is anything useful, it would most likely be on his computer.’ Walking into the distraught office, the hedgehog noticed the computer was smashed. “Damn,” he muttered under his breath. Slightly annoyed, the ebony hedgehog was about to leave until he noticed a piece of the floor awkwardly out-of-place. Despite the office being disheveled, the floorboard should not have been in that position. Walking over to it, the hedgehog lifted the board up, tossed across the room, and picked up what was hidden underneath. In his hand was a weathered piece of paper that looked to be about 10 years old. The striped hedgehog read the note, and as he read, his eyebrows rose and his pupils grew small. Once finished with reading the note, the hedgehog ran to the smashed windows, jumped out, and raced along the wreckage to find someone to help him figure out why the past had changed.

Kind of short, but that's ok!

I've decided to draw pictures for each of my chapters. You know, make it a little more personal. The only down side, is that means I won't be posting these as often as these two have been. (To been honest, I spent my whole Thanksgiving break doing two hours of homework, which I still haven't finished, and break ends today.... playing hockey twice, and writing/drawing
this story and doing a collab with I joined in on the 2nd chapter, but the link to the 1st chapter is right here: [link] (By the way, go and watch her, she's a fantastic writer.) ) So please spare me! And PLEASE COMMENT! It's the only way I can approve!
