Story:
  This place was... new. Rune's head lifted slightly as she looked over the small ravine, taking in the vegetation. A scent hung around the air that was very clearly not prey. It was... like the scent that hung about that large noisy group of creatures that her sister lived with, but was not the same. It was sharper, more extreme. Tinged with a sour edge that made her skin crawl. Wild. Dangerous.

  Something inside rune's stomach twisted and their heartbeat sped up. But not in a bad way. She felt electrified, like she could charge on straight through anything in her path. The scent was shifting about her, both old and new, nearly washed away and only hours old. She was an invader. Rune's low voice rumbled from her throat as she pressed forward, feeling her shoulders lower as she rolled forward, silent and deadly.

It took longer than she thought possible for her presence to become noticed. She began hearing sounds- the shifting of a leaf where there was no wind or the snapping of a twig under seemingly nothing. Rune's heartbeat picked up even more as she wandered father. She wasn't aiming to get through without being caught- the only other gro she had met out here like her had been kiba, and he... well, he was not dangerous to her. Quite the opposite, really. She loved being around him, but his presence... sedated her, rather than excited her. She drew no challenge from him

And she loved challenge.

This was forbidden territory- something that belonged to someone else. She had to investigate. Whatever that meant, however it played out. And finally, finally was her challenger meeting her. When she heard the first growl, Rune responded in a flash of movement, her eyes flicking as she turned to face the other. Huge teeth, claws, horns, spines- a true adversary. Rune almost purred. The other gro was obviously much less satisfied with seeing her than she was with it. Circling, the two of them observed one another until Rune found herself up on a small cliff. Then, rearing back partially on her back legs, she let a tunnel of sound erupt from her throat as a wave of energy washed over her. The sound shook the trees to their roots, making the other gro only growl in response.

And then, they were upon one another.

Teeth flashed, fur flew and claws raked through the air. The confidence that Rune had felt when she had seen the other gro was starting to sour, turning to fear-tinged desperation. She couldn't seem to move fast enough to avoid the other's devastating attacks, teeth finding ways into her fur and flesh even as she twisted and writhed as hard as she could. Rune was starting to feel panic peek into her heart when a familiar growling sounded behind her.

  Kiba let at the two of them, crashing into their fray and pulling them apart. He stood between Rune and the gro, who looked murderous at that point, before slowly backing away. The tension in the air remained, making Rune feel almost dizzy as they left, the other gro's scent mixing with the sharp scent of blood. The smells began to fade then, slowly becoming the smell of dew and the smell of birds high in the trees. Rune stared at the spot the gro stood for a long time after the foliage hid them, her eyes seemingly glued to the spot as though they would suddenly come rushing out at any moment. Feeling as though some part of her had been stomped flat- some fight was gone- Rune let out a deep, ragged sigh, the sting in her wounds finally registering. She felt deflated.

Note: RUNE'S INJURIES WILL NOT SCAR. THEY'RE JUST SCRATCHES THEY'LL HEAL OVER JUST FINE
