Description
A long overdue Mermay pic of two of my characters, Rayla and Gawli, based off of a Porcupine Pufferfish and a Pistol Shrimp respectively. I prefer a much more unique type of mermaid of a more fish/aquatic animal type of being that has aspects of its base animal integrated in most of its design and anatomy. Also I changed up some of their colors and other details in order to make their designs better for these two in case I wanted to make them more interesting than their animal counterparts. But anyway these two are merfolk for a unique fantasy world, where merfolk have aspects of a single animal and some attributes as well. Rayla and Gawli are a couple who also work in Glassmaking (they forge above the surface of course) and use their abilities to greatly improve their craft and make marvelous sculptures. Also you might recognize them from Cactus Senpai's work, which was a commision by a friend of mine, though I asked not to be credited for the characters for a few reasons, such as not really having anything of the characters when it was made.
