In Equestria Defense Warriors, tag tasks are similar to friendship campaign in Disney Heroes Battle Mode, is a type of campaign that two characters spend time together, fighting Cursed-Ones and by finishing, the first pony that starts a tag task
gains a medallion that grants it a special feature to one of his abilities

In this example, Fried Egg and Dancing Fan almost finish a tag task, every tag task has volunteers that after winning one surge, one of three volunteers go with the duo to help them fight off the enemies.
