Their body their choices, it's not hurting anyone. I love tattoos and piercings on others, I think it can be very beautiful, I just don't feel like having some

I think i need to clarify my above statement.

I'm not against peoples freedom to do with their bodies what they want, as long as it doesn't hurt others, of course.

You know, i just made a habit of trying to understand other people reasoning (because i always have difficulties to understand other people). So sometimes, i can somehow comprehend other peoples intentions and goals to a certain degree (not agree with it, but understand.)

Tattos and piercings are a interesting phenomenon to me tbh, because the very concept of it is totally alien to me as if it was from an other planet. I cannot comprehend what's beautiful about it.

Ok, i may sound like an old man right now, but since we are living in a time where basically everything goes (fashion wise) i find it hard to understand why so many women choose tatoos and piercings over something amazinly beautiful like, let's say..  an "elf" style.

I'm not saying people should or have to do that, i simply fail to understand why so many favour one thing but not the other, while i can't even comprehend what's supposed to beautiful about it in the first place.

Maybe i'm completely wrong and nose piercings and huge ear piercings (so big you can put several fingers through it) are indeed amazingly beautiful, instead of disgusting or plain ugly.

But strangely, i haven't seen anyone saying that yet (except those who have them). Most other people simply seem to tolerate it, just not to upset those who like it. 

So i assume, it is rather a "either one likes or hates it" thing.

On a personal note, i find it simply heartbreaking when i see a beautiful woman "decorating" her whole body with taoos, so one can't even reckognize it anymore. (similar when i see a beautiful women cut of her amazing long hair just to look "different", which is in 99% of all cases to the worse.)

Again, everyone is free to do what she/he want's with their body, i simply fail to see what's even remotely beautiful about that.

But each to his/her own i guess.

On the other hand if there was a trend of "body modifications" that would make people have pointy ears (of various length, maybe?), i'd find that amazingly beautiful.

There is nothing wrong with body art. It's the choice of the person who does it.
But I will agree with one thing. The Fantasy inspired look is much better than tons of piercings.

This is body art too imo.

I just don't find dozen (or more) tatoos on a womans body to be very attractive or even remotely nice looking.(Or those huge ear piercings   )

For most fashion trends i can somehow understand why they where made and why some ppl. may like them, but i simply cannot comprehend why so many beautiful girls and women "decorate" or better said "disfigure" their bodies with tasteless and ugly Tatoos and oversized piercings. 

Maybe you understand and don't mind it, but i just can't see anything beautiful in it.

Some tattoos have meaning to people. Like tattoos for children or in remembrance of a deceased relative.

But the whole "tramp stamp" type tattoo is overdone.
The gauged "piercing" are a bit ridiculous looking in my opinion. It's hilarious to see someone with a huge hole in their ear.

Agreed.

My criticism is not aimed at someone in particular, but the (hopefully) temporary fashion in general. Whatever someones personal reasons may be, i simply do not find it particulary nice to look at and i never found one single tatoo that made someone look better at all. That's why i'm puzzeling with that whole phenomenon, i simply cannot find anything beautiful about it whatsoever.

I feel the same way about those huge ear piercings (or nose piercings). I have no idea how someone comes to the opinion to need something like that or to think it looks good in the first place. (I actually find it pretty dishusting to be honest.)

But on the other hand it's probably just me.

If they have to modify their bodies, why not get some elven ears for instance? That would look awesome and beautiful imo.
