Do you ever use reference for the background's perspective? Or have you practiced it enough to where you can just wing it?

I come up with perspective from scrath- I was preparing for school exams with people studying for architecture course- all of us had to draw all kinds of perspective and use it properly. And I copied a lot of photos trying to understand how it works- it's not that hard after one practise it : )
