Steven Universe fanart! I really wanted to draw Rose with her fancy translucent shield and some after-battle ideas came to my mind.One day I'll manage to draw a more cheerful fanart. For sure.

Oh, yikes. This is so full of quiet despair - Pearl's grasping hope that their friends can be saved, and Rose's bleak resignation that, no, there is nothing that can be done now. Your lighting and ambiance are so great here; Pearl really plays up the glory and fervour of being smack in the middle of battle when she's recounting stories to Steven, but nobody likes to talk about the "after," when you're scouring the battlefield to try to find what comrades are left.

The palette is so fittingly gloomy... and such heartbreaking expressions. Even the little details, like Rose's dress being tattered and her hair being mussed... Rose's shield being the only light in this dark place. You've captured the moment beautifully.

The light coming from Rose's shield against the contrasting darkness of the battlefield is beautiful~
Like a single ray of hope across a dark landscape. This really is a very nice piece. Personally I might think that a little more detail in the background would suit it, but I think this still looks really nice how you've put it together~

"Leave them, Pearl."
The young gem looked up at her leader in disbelief, the fragments of a friend resting in her slender battle worn hand. The giant beauty was gazing out with empty eyes, her pale features and dirty massive curls tinged with the glow of her shield, a chilling wind blowing across the battlefield.
"B-But Rose-"
"We can't help them anymore." She said, turning away as tears slide down her round cheeks. "We have to return to the others."
Pearl, after a long moment staring at Rose's back, gently set the shards back down and stood.
"Let's go."

Still know nothing about this show beyond that there are gems, and a guy called Steven, but very cool art. The colours and shadows are great, and the two characters really give off a sense of emotion.

To już ekstremalny kąt otyłości, kiedy już wymyka się to spod kontroli- ale jest masa ludzi którzy są zdrowi i w lepszej formie niż chudziny, a mają mocniej zbudowaną sylwetkę, ciężej im się pozbyć fałdek. Ale wracając do mojej wypowiedzi- na prawdę miło się rysuje na przykład ludzi z krągłościami, szczególnie że sylwetki są tak zróżnicowane)

Zaiste, chociaż nie umiem w Stevena i nie chodzi o samą kreskę, bo ta w sumie jest milutka. Aczkolwiek jest lepszy niż Ed, Edd i Edy.

I love it. One thing I felt in Steven Universe is that Pearl had probably witnessed quite a body count - and caused quite a body count on her own. This captures those issues and so much more - excellently done piece.
I love how the glowing shield stands out in the more somber tones as well.
