Description My favorite character from Greek Mytholgy is Hades, and he has been since sixth grade. So naturally, when it comes to D1sney's version of Hercules, the love of Hades carries over (especially what with his quick wit and hilariously improper sense of humor).

I feel that the story isn't done--Hades deserves a little loving. And who better to pair him up with than Persephone?

Watching the movie Hercules (again and again and again) I realized that in every panel in which Demeter appears (a woman in full-green, with leaf-themed clothing and hat, and red hair), there is a thin, pink, blonde girl with a flower hat on her head. A ridiculously huge hat. XD She looks very shy, very quiet, and very young.

Doing research on her character, and the tales regarding her upbringing, I realized that she has lived a very sheltered life, and isn't often allowed to leave the island she and her mother (and nymphs) live on. It makes sense, however, for her to be attending the birth of Hercules in the movie, because technically he is her cousin (or brother. But lets keep this Disnified, why don't we?). This is probably maybe one of three instances in her life that she's been allowed out. And I can imagine her frustration.

So after all the hullabaloo and Olympus being taken over by Hades, I imagine that she decides that enough is enough, and that she freaking wants to live life for once.

And thereby hides in the last place her mother would ever expect her to go--to the man who just tried to destroy them all. However, when it comes to my (mental) swing on things, I imagine her pretending to be her friend, Iris, a messanger to the gods, and a goddess of the Rainbow, delivering a message to Hades regarding the "Community Service" he has to do, in cleaning up the afterlife.

(Considering that Hades is portrayed as being ruthless, yet fair, in the Greek stories, this makes sense. As he's portrayed in the D1sney movie, he's not quite to that stage yet.)

Using a Pseudonym, of course, makes it so that when the other gods come sniffing around for Persephone, he doesn't know what they're talking about, of course. Because he thinks she's Iris. *drum roll* Rather than a snatch and grab plot on his part, I prefer one in which she's naively pulling the strings.

And then she decides to be his unofficial PR agent, much to his dismay. But hey, someone's gotta do it. And he's definitely the most interesting person she's ever run into.

Until, that is, Hades finds out she's been manipulating him all along. At which point, she'll have to deal with the consequences....

*evil laughter*

(Persephone belongs to Homer and other dead dudes. Her initial design belongs to D1sney, and her secondary design, to me.)

I remember seeing her a couple of times. I was always like "What is WITH that hat, anyway?" XD It does sound like some good fanfiction material. The friend who suggested the idea for When The Day Met The Night was reading some mythology fanfiction. She likes mythology. XD

Torture, pure torture I say. I mean, do you remember when you were young? Really, really young? I don't know about you, but when other kids were coming for school pictures dressed in 80's inspired outfits, with sneakers and bobs in their hair, my mom was dressing me in hand-me-down, matching hand-made outfits from my grandma, and crushed velvet, long-sleeved dresses. >__<

It took my years before I finally got it into her head that I didn't need her old stuff, and that I could dress myself.

I imagine Persephone is feeling the same way in the movie. Only for several hundred years, instead of only a few.

Mythology is a wonderful source for inspiration. You can pick and chose what you use, and no one ever gets mad for copyright reasons. *laughs* All joking aside, I really do enjoy it.

My mom set out clothes for me to wear in the morning until I was about thirteen. XD I didn't really get to choose what I wore. (And with good reason. I'm totally fashion deficient. )

It sure would stink to be Persephone. Having your mom give you giant gaudy hats to wear for a few hundred years doesn't sound very fun at all. XD

Thirteen? O__O;; That's a bit of a surprise, but then I guess I kinda wish some of my siblings had received that same treatment, given some of their clothing clashes in the past. *coughs*

Yeah. Once I was about eight I put my foot down in most instances. It helps that I have a fairly good eye for fashion. The first time my parents realized this was when I was twelve, of course, which is around the same time your mom stopped helping out. *shrugs*

I know. That was my thought, too. *winces* After that much mothering, if I was Persephone I would want to get out of there as soon as I possible could. No matter where the location led me, or how gloomy the locations. Anything was better than being locked up with no company but nymphs. XD

I don't really care what goes with what, so my mom gets mad at me when I wear blue sweatpants with some random colored shirt. XD

I don't. I just put on jeans and a tee shirt and I'm usually fine until I run out of clean pairs of jeans.

No matter if it was even in the Underworld. XD

I'm all about the visual, so while I'm not a fashionista *coughs, realizing she accidentally quoted herself* , I definitely pay attention to styles and colors.

For instance, today I wore a T-shirt and jeans, too. But the T-shirt was purple, with the words, "I would look cooler if I was riding a Unicorn," written on it in pale yellow.

In the past I've worn my yellow giraffe earrings with the outfit, for a silly kiddish look at work. But today was a school day for me, so I wanted to look nice. So instead I picked a white and purple flower clip for my hair, and a purple bracelet.

And as for earrings, I didn't want anything overlarge or gaudy to distract from the simplicity of the flower, so I chose rather small earrings in the shape of hearts, created with the texture of wings. Which went with the whimsical theme rather nicely.

In response I received several complimentary looks, and one outright "Hey, are you single?" XD Kind of a funny situation. And there was me, without a dab of makeup on.

I guess I'm making too much of a big deal about it. But in a way it's kind of fun after a while, to dress to impress. And depending on what you wear, people treat you differently. Like when I put my hair in pigtails everyone thinks I'm sixteen, versus when I let my hair down and they think I'm my real age.

I guess you could say that when you're in highschool it doesn't matter too much, but once you got to be in college things are, I dunno, slightly different. *shrugs*

Or you could be like one of my friends and not care at all, except for when she's cosplaying. That would definitely make sense as well.

And there I go again, rambling about clothes among other useless junk. *laughs wryly*

Well, I'm sure that makes Violet a lot easier to write in Masks, then, since you have at the very least a basic knowledge of what goes well together.

Many things will probably change once I get into college. Although I have found out one thing that was fairly odd... Violet may have been onto something at the end of the movie, because since I've started pulling my hair back, I've felt just a little more confident.

Although your splendiferous art may have helped as well.

I don't know. I've just been putting more effort into things than usual.

Meh. It's either a talent, or a life-sucking addiction. Art is art, whether worn or drawn. *shrugs*

That is very true, actually. Lately my fourteen-year olds sister has started doing the same thing, with similar results. *nods* The more your hair is pulled back, the more often people can see your eyes. And communication tends to be better when people look each other in the eye as they speak.

You should see how many different types of hairstyles you can pull off, just for the heck of it. =^__^=

I think you're giving me too much credit. *blushes furiously*

It makes sense for that to happen. When you care, heart and soul, about the things going on in your life, you generally pay more attention to their details. Inspiration works that way, as you've already figured out, as well as a whole bundle of things.

*hugs* I just felt like hugging you. Don't mind me. =^__^=

My hair doesn't do much, it's not long enough yet. It goes down and up. Down, up, down, up. And out, sometimes, if you have enough hair gel and hairspray. XD I used to have long hair, but we never actually did anything with it except put it in a ponytail or my mom would braid it. We probably could have done a lot with it, but we never did.

It really did build a lot of confidence when you did the fanart, though. Just knowing that you have someone out there who likes your stories enough to do fanart is great. XD

Hugging is good.

I'm a little jealous that yours is short right now. *sighs* I'm really, really tired of mine, since it's thick. And sometimes it's nice to just run your hands through it, and to get ready for the rest of your day.

You should do fun spikes and such. Or work out hairbands and barrettes. Also, even with short hair you can twist and pin using bobby pins, to create crisscross patterns. That's always fun. *nods*

But they're wonderful! Of course I would create fanart for them! =^__^=

Looooonnnggg description, but definitely interesting~
It would be awesome if you made a fanfic for this. Hades and Persephone became my two favorites in Greek Mythology after you told me so many stories of them so I would gladly read the story. ^^
To tell you the truth whenever I watch the movie Hercules I can't seem to find Demeter.....

Hey, it's the way my mind works. One long, endless stream of thought all shoved into a processed form. XD

I would always see just a flash of green, and get a general idea of what she looked like. So one day I just sat down and watched the scenes with all the deities together, frame by frame. And a whole new word of possibilities opened up for me.

If I still feel inspired by the time I've finished with my Icarus and Masks fanfics, then I'll probably write it. *nods* The world needs as many Hades/Persephone fics as it can get, considering that they're few and far between. *shrugs*
