Rowanfrost was breathing heavily. Despite his efforts to put up a brave front, his anxiety was evident. Honeystar briefly relished in the feeling of striking fear into the young tom. Smiling softly, she answered, “Just to visit.”

“Visit?” Rowanfrost snapped.

Honeystar continued, “You can go home today.” She ignored the surprised murmurs of her Clanmates. “This was just a little warning, my dear. Your father knows that wars only escalate.”

Rowanfrost gnashed his teeth in anger. Honeystar watched the tom’s pitiful attempt to come up with a retort, but he remained frozen in place.

Glancing into the crowd, Honeystar gestured to Mudtuft. “Take him back to where you found him. Give him a souvenir.” Frowning, Mudtuft nodded.
