psst I know you posted this a while ago but if you like Reader-inserts, a fanfic I can recommend is Cerulean Rain, you can find it on Archive of our Own. It's really good and it made me cry.
And if reader inserts are not your thing there's also a really good little one-shot, but WARNING it's majorly sad.Ā Undertale ~ It's always too soon. Ā I cried at this one as well, and I cried hard. It has to do with someone's kind-of-not-really AU (like it's less of an AU than a headcanon/expansion on the story I guess?) but I think you don't *need* to know the comics since the fic does a good enough job describing it on its own.
