The shot is lovely. Still, the branches are slightly grainy (Perhaps from a sharpen filter you used before posting?) and that takes away from the full view.

beautiful tree well captured! wonder if more contrast or a desaturated version would improve the photo

First off, its an excellent picture as it is

Following suggestions would each result in a different picture, rather than a better picture:
Maybe including more of the surrounding area (if it is tidy) could have emphasized the loneliness of the tree. Putting more distance between yourself and the tree would have made it even more ethereal. There seems to be a light source to the right...maybe it could have been lined up directly behind the tree, making lighting more dramatic.

I don't know about your stance on post-processing, but adding some vignetting seems to improve most of my images...helps to create variation in the flatter areas, and makes the image more self-contained, rather than something cut out of reality.

Thank you for your comments

I see what you mean about more distance between me and the tree that's a good point. The light source was pretty much centered behind the tree but i think the way the sun was trying to burn through the mist and a cloud was just coming infront of the sun made it like this.

I do some post processing but i don't know much yet, trying to learn but i'll bare in mind what you said.

Maybe if you get some time and/or like any of my other images you could give me some advice there. You'rs is the type of comment i really appricate.

Thank you very much!

You are welcome...I am a hobby photographer, so I am glad that you found it useful.

I will try to do some commenting later on. I wouldn't mind if you could do the same for a few of mine, as a different set of eyes is bound to find stuff that could help.

Oh, and finally...this is a double-edged sword, but I personally prefer to upload larger sizes...makes appreciating any interesting details/texture easier.

I see what you're saying but i'm worried about images getting stolen, maybe if i add a watermark with a very low opacity? Watermarks do take from the image but i also don't want it getting stolen and used without my permission etc. I guess it's like you said, double-edged sword.

I think a low opacity watermark along one of the edges should be fine...but then again, I am not worried much about 'ripping'. I think the danger is a bit exaggerated for most images. In any case, please don't use the DA watermark...whoever decided on the size and placing of that one should be shot. Twice.

I agree about the DA watermark lol when I view some peoples images I just can't enjoy it as much it's too big and in a bad place. I'll have to watermark mine from now on then and offer larger images for viewing, it is nicer to see a larger image.

Thank you This is on White horse hill on the ridgeway in England. I went up there hoping for nice morning mist which is what i got, but not the exact kind of mist i was hoping for. As i was walking through the mist searching for things to photograph i found this tree
