Description
Transhuman fashion was slowly creeping in to modern culture, the odd set of pointed ears, or maybe some bionic eyes. At most a prehensile tail if you're adventurous. For others, the transformation to transhuman meant they could do more... be more. Be a hero! Johnny was pretty much the fun guy that hung around with his friends who decided to get transhuman upgrades, and they egged Johnny to do it too. Peer pressure was the start of it, but as he augmented himself he found it worked for him and he got more and more. He was always Johnny Bear to his friends so he went for bear DNA, giving him enhanced toughness, strength and some pretty deadly claws. Then, all of a sudden, people were putting on tights and capes and gaining popularity by being do gooders, so Johnny followed suit and being the lovable guy that he is gained a small following of his own.Creators notes
Another completely new character to my roster, I had originally designed Power Pawz as a character for a Roll20 banner for a game for some friends, which never happened. I generated his outfit in Champions Online (see below) and had a quick run around with him. He's a big brother type who is protective of his friends, he generally gets on with everyone and as a character is a bit of a blank canvas for now but I'll develop him as I go.

I say he is the bravest member of the team. Why you ask? Cause he's really fat but willing to wear tight spandex LOL! Just read the entire comic to date and am loving it and your characters. You'll find I commented on nearly every page, hope you don't mind any crits as I tried to make them constructive.

Its coming and I look forward to your thoughts as well. You'll not I had less cries to give as I went along. Evidence of your continuing improvement as you progressed. Im glad you found the feedback helpful as I am really enjoying you book quite a bit. The biggest obstacle to getting going for me is getting enough story written for a complete arc. Ive so many grand ideas! Trying to put them into a plot that makes sense is the thing. I want to get enough done ahead of time so that I can maintain a bit of a schedule as I delve into future story arcs. Got my first issue pretty well plotted out and am working on the second.

The idea of the unlikely or reluctant hero is always appealing to me. Power being thrust upon someone who might not have sought it out.
So I see this guy who gets these augmentations, not to have power over others but because he is pushed by friends (who maybe don't respect the guy entirely or don't take him seriously) but inside him all along there has been this latent ability that the augmentations activate.
Not only are most of the transhuman transformations superficial, they are meant to be. Power, after all, is dangerous in the wrong hands and ultimately the system resists the chaos of sharing power and so the technology for real power is not meant to be shared. But in Johnny's case real power is unleashed and he can do things most transhumans cannot.
Oftentimes the people who want power the most, want it for selfish reasons. Johnny might lack ambition but he has enormous heart. He has a live and let live philosophy but when he sees bad stuff happening to good people, the bear in him reacts and he springs into action, sometime foolishly, but always with good intent.
In my mind he is kind of like a version of the Hulk. He has almost endless brute force that he can call on, maybe more than any other being, but only calls on it when he is moved by passion. He's not mindless like the Hulk but once he gets going he is hard to stop and the other heroes are a little scared of him when he's in action.
Anyway, for me, this character has great potential and when I'm inspired by a great beginning, I can't help but start developing my whole version of the character. This isn't even a suggestion, I just wanted to share what your work inspired in me. Take it as you will, but I love the beginning you have here!

Thanks so much for your response to this, Power Pawz was made spontaneously but yes his character shone through instantly which is why I used him straight away. I prefer having a juxtaposition of characters to bounce off each other in various ways as it promoted interesting dialogue. He has gained his popularity because he is genuine, and genuinely passionate about those he cares for. I'm really looking forward to developing him in future issues.
