Description
I've been reading and watching a lot of Vampire stuff lately... my most recent guilty pleasure is the new HBO show "True Blood". About vampires "coming out of the coffin" and living among humans in the open.
I started thinking about how cool that would have been in previous decades... and had this idea for a little "Vampire Noir".
Yes... I'm still really into this whole "picture in a frame/ out of the frame" thing. Its working for me. This is another drawn entirely in Photoshop... its getting a little easier. It didn't take as long as that damn pirate wench. LOL!
You can see some closeups of this image in my Scraps.... HERE . It looses so much shrunk to 72 dpi!

Oh this is just fabulous! Definitely has the old noir feel.. I remember loving the vibe of those old movies!
And speaking of vamp stuff- have you ever read Robin McKinley's "Sunshine"? It's one of the best vampire novels I've read in a very long time!

Thanks... and for all the faves and the watch!
I haven't read that book... I'm going to have to add it to my list.
I'm a total sucker for a good Vampire yarn.

My pleasure! I love all the detail you're putting into the costume.. tis lovely.
And definitely: Robin McKinley is really one of my fave authors all around. She does quite a few retellings of fairy tales too.

Thank You!
I had to Google Jack Fleming.... looks like another series I'm going to have to read! I've only got one more in the "Southern Vampire Mysteries" (aka True Blood) and then I'll be needed a new fix. LOL!

I love the shoes she's wearing! All of your pieces go very well into detail of a time period, and I think you hit the nail on the head with making everything look so authentic in your drawings.

A Sleestack uniform is just green PJ's... So, probably pretty good, I imagine.

I ALMOST MISSED THIS IN MY WATCH BOX..!
I normally don't like the "Drawings on a real life background" look...but you just do it so well right here! I also loooove detective noir e.e I'd love an old-fashioned noir narrative to go with this scene!
and I want to steal those shoes so I can trip all over myself in them.

LOL! I know, I design shoes all the time that I can't walk in.
I think someone should write me an awesome narrative...
maybe I should make a contest out of it.
