Athena kept fighting it. Even with only one free arm, she crawled for the ropes, dragging Blonde Nova's entire body weight along. As she closed in, Nova pulled back. Athena reacted, tried to use the momentum to roll her over into a pinning predicament. Blonde Nova rolled with her and just like that, had the crippling Crossface locked in in the middle of the ring once again, pulling back extra hard! However, doing so she had kicked the bottom rope, looking for momentum, and now that referee, looking like a thinner, more mediocre version of Vince McMahon with that hairdo, told her to break the hold! He even dared counting her out! In the middle of the ring! Stupid referee! Nova slammed Athena's head to the mat hard, leaving the champion weakened and dazed. Pounding her chest, Blonde Nova went to the corner and climbed the ropes, preparing the next legacy move. By the time she was in position, Vain had rolled onto her back. A pity, so she wouldn't deliver a spine-shattering splash then, but the classic version. Smirking, she jumped, performing a picture-perfect Frogsplash. The satisfaction of crashing into Athena's chest was short-lived, though. Because the moment she landed with impact, she gasped as an iron grip closed around her throat! Athena had grabbed her, forced her back to her feet, with her GOOD arm, the one Nova hadn't worked on. This time, there was no fighting back! Blonde Nova went up and Blonde Nova went down as Athena Vain delivered a vicious Chokeslam from Hell! The referee slid in position and counted:
"1 ... 2 ... !"
Nova kicked out! Athena flipped back her long black hair in frustration. Of course her second-biggest move hadn't been enough! But now, she had Nova on the defensive and she would capitalize. Pulling the challenger to her feet, she powered her into the air, gorilla pressing her high above her own head. Suddnely though, Blonde Nova came back to life and struggled free, grabbing Athena's head and slamming her to the mat with a nasty Death Drop DDP on her way down! Everything faded to black! The shocked murmurs of the fans the last thing she heard. Then, fromseemingly far, far away, the referee's count:
"1 ... 2 ... !"
Athena's right arm and shoulder shot up in the last split-second! The crowd roared! This had been mighty close! Blonde Nova cussed to herself, pulling her dreadlocks. As of late, she had beaten everyone with that move, everytime it hit. Just what was this Athena Vain made of? The referee wanted to check on the dazed champion, but an enraged Nova pulled him aside. Like a fury, she mounted Vain and decked her with a barrage of vicious forearms and punches to the face, technically only one of which was legal in a wrestling match. The referee reprimanded her, but Nova just spat at him, drawing massive boos from the crowd. Alright then, enough with the pleasantries! She pulled Vain to her feet, locked in a waist lock and delivered another German Suplex, holding on and following with a second one, the sixth in total over the course of the match. Holding on again, instead of a third, she went for a Ripcord Lariat, jumping to get some extra force behind it. Still, Athena blocked it with her forearm, turned Nova's mometum against her and spun her around. Suddenly the were back-to-back, arms linked, with Athena trying to pull Nova down to the mat. VWW's Alpha Predator blocked it, remaining on her feet. She smirked. The mighty Athena Vain had just attempted a basic Backslide! She kept pulling, she really must be at the end of her rope! Blonde Nova kept wrestling for control. Deep down she knew that entering the power game against the amazon-like champion was not wise, but she was in a frenzy. Arms still locked, she pulled Athena to the corner, using the turnbuckle to flip over her and thus transitioning into the Powerbomb position. Before the champ could fight back, Blonde Nova powered her up and delivered a spine-shattering Turnbuckle Powerbomb! Athena screamed as she went down, crumbling to the mat. Nova's predatory thoughts raced. How about ... a little shoutout to her "bestie"? She again climbed the ropes, made sure Athena was still in position and grinned at the crowd. They were about to see something special! Nova jumped, actually performing a Shooting Star Press, a marvelous move, usually not part of her arsenal! The reward ... was a gut punch! All the air drained from her lungs, as Athena Vain rolled out of the way and Nova hit nothing but ring canvas! Coughing, she struggled to her feet, only to walk straight into Athena's waiting arms, who hoisted her up again and this time landed her signature Gorilla Press Slam! The mighty Athena shook the ropes Warrior-style, yelling her battle cry, before turning back to her opponent. Blonde Nova was still shaking off the cobwebs, not fully there yet. She was in for a rude awakening!
