Heat Wave (or Heather) has the power to expel extreme heat from her body or from exhalations. The amount of this heat may vary, mainlly because Heather ignores her own limits. It is believed that she could expel a temperature above the Sun's core, it was never proved due to the possible environmental disaster that a test may cause.

Despite the enormous amount of energy Heat Wave might need to live, she hasn't shown any signs of needing a major caloric diet than another teenager, even after using her powers for a long time.

She wears a special armor that limits her powers, being able to expel heat from her hands and head; preventing a possible miscalculation from her.
