Occupation: Full-time College Student (majoring in Archeology AND Geophysics), part-time assistant martial-arts instructor (teaches mostly children from ages 5-9)

Personality: Outgoing, always has a ready smile, and she loves to help those in need. Has a strong sense of right and wrong (due to her parents). However, when she is by herself, she finds herself brooding and she is very sarcastic and snarky when online. She sometimes feels that she is suppose to be doing something else, something that would make a difference in the world. She also tends to speak what's on her mind and tends to be blunt with her opinions. However, when it comes to someone she may like, or love in general, she doesn't know how to deal with it.

Likes: Her best friend Isamu, her cat Silver, the outdoors, digging for fossils and artifacts, the colors teal and light green, a Mexican restaurant in Denver called Casa Bonita (this is a real place... ), skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, camping, her beat-up moped, martial arts, swords, knives, guns (thats thanks to her father)

Dislikes: cherries, people who don't say what they mean, dog-people, laziness, cowardice, men who think she's only good for a quick roll in the sack

History: Maven is the youngest child in a family of four children. She is not spoiled, as some people think of the youngest child in a family. Her brothers and sister are out following their dreams, with two of them following in their parents footsteps. People thought that Maven would either go into the police force like her mother, or join the military like her father. Instead, she decided to go into the sciences like Archeology and Geology. The reason why is the pendent she constantly wears.

This pendant was given to her by her late maternal grandmother, Dana Heart, a well-known and much sought after psychic. Dana told her youngest granddaughter that the pendant had been in her family for generations, passing down from mother to daughter and so on. She explained that Maureen was not interested, nor inclined, to do listen to the old family stories. But whenever Maven was with her grandmother, her eyes would light up with the antiques in her home. Dana explained to Maven that the pendant was special, that it can trace its ancestry to the ancient tale of Atlantis. And that it also means that the creators of the pendant will someday return, to claim the power contained within.

Of course, Maven inwardly scoffed at that but as time went by, she noticed strange things always happened whenever she wore the pendant. And that whenever she took it off, she always felt naked, like a part of her soul was removed from her body.

Anyway, she grew up in a small neighborhood where an old Japanese couple also lived. The Matsuro family was a gentle and kind family, who had adopted a strange looking boy with cat ears and a tail. Maven never though anything of it and would always play with the young Isamu. When the alien race called the Malkinites arrived on Earth, that's when they realized that Isamu was a Malkinite as well. Maven never cared... Isamu was Isamu, her best friend.

As they both got older, Maven did develop a crush on Isamu, but never had the guts to tell him seeing as he always shied away from girls who were overly aggressive...

Well, here she is, Maven Blalock, one of the main characters for my new story, Quirks. Silver, her cat, is special and that will be revealed as time goes on...^_^

Since she does like Isamu, she will automatically dislike Rinna, the Malkinite spy/double-agent...XD
