Eureka is a preformance robot who starred in a children's show that never quite went national - as well as local public events.
She can walk around her set as far as her wires allow, but her legs show exposed mechanical parts. She was always filmed above her legs.
Post career, many kids had fond memories of her TV show which was well loved in its local region - but because of the shows obscurity, many ended up later wondering if they had imagined the whole thing...
Somewhat inspired by character designs from Eureeka's Castle, an old Nick Jr cartoon I really loved as a kid! Specifically the titular wizard's starry and rainbow motifs, and Mcgellen the Dragon (a very large puppet only filmed waist-up!)

I still cannot decide what this reminds me of, but if you threw 80s technology, 80s kids shows, 90s nostalgia and aesthetics, and slight fear all into one you'd have this gorgeous creation. This is seriously one of my favorites of the species ; and I know I gushed it a note but I just wanted to say it here too-- AMAZING work.
I really don't know how to put it but a design has never hit home more than this one, and I don't want it to be taken the wrong way when I say I 'fear' her because there is nothing scary about her. It's pretty much leg-down that gets me, those WIRES hhh
I've also never seen such amazing use of limited traits; so kudos!! I might, might snatch the filming leg-up concept and credit you for a design? If not that's okay!! I'd want my baby to be the only one too hehe~

Tbh when I was a really young kid I actually had huge phobias of exposed wires, electronic parts, and in general of animatronics & similar moving toys. In part its because my mom warned me about broken wires, outlets, water damage, battery acid ect - and then I just sort of got freaked out by any electronic insides for a while. ....anddd my animatronic fears are kinda a longer weirder story hahah.
BUT I really started appreciating them when I was a lil older!
I was v. excited about my pet furby and about the animatronics at rainforest cafe and wanted to make them.
BUT that aint never turned into a thing!

And holy gosh I share a very similar story, I was terrified of them as a kid. I would have rather died than be in the same room as anything remotely robotic! Look at me now, I own a few hehe<3
Your reasoning is actually legitimate though, like freaking the hazardous side ooooffff. Mine was simply because they wouldn't listen to me if I got scared, nothing could stop them from walking closer *shivers* so dang bless growing up!! The appreciation is strong<3 and I doubt it's that weird !

That's a good way to word it! I've never been able to verbalize it well. I guess I was anxious because they couldn't understand me, but also because their body language couldn't show what they were "thinking/feeling" unlike people and animals. (which is obviously bc they DON'T but still!) On top of that the general uncanny valley, and the fact I could hear the mechanics inside.
I don't think I'll have the time and resources in the near future to learn how to make electronic stuff, but I woooouuuld really like to find the time to create some hand-powered puppets at some point. I at least have SOME skillsets and materials already related to that, hahah
