Why hasn't it been adapted into a TV series???

Gorgeous artwork, love the traditional oil painting aspect of it. And the overall composition and the position of the main character are really interesting. A very expressive artwork
As to your final question well, for the very same reason why countless others great literary works aren't turned into movies or TV series: not enough people, both on the producers and the public's side, to see the value in them. Not when you can get more eye-candy projects with a lot less deeper philosophical undertone message to them, thinking is good but not in too large quantities nowadays it seems. Better fast and superficial than slow and deep.

Thanks. I mean it's just right for a TV mini-series than a movie, no need too many special effects scenes. As “Childhood's End” had been adapted into a series, there is no reason it should not be adapted, in the future!
