I thought I'd do some serious studies of one of my favorite dragons ever, Toothless.I'm actually gearing up to do a serious Dragons painting featuring Toothless, and I want to know that I'm getting him right. He is still one of the hardest characters I've ever drawn, his final design has such subtlety and flawless appeal.
It feels like an uphill battle just trying to put my spin on an original design that I admire so much, and be satisfied with it. I think these came out alright.

Lower right is the "Eeeeel's for dinner?" face, most clearly.
Upper right corner is either snickering over hiccups latest try at Astrid going fail - or he's just let a silent one go in Hiccups room'.
