To simply put, since this April, I have taken a love to Toucan Sam's LATAM design used in Latin American countries, especially as it happens to be a variant of Toucan Sam's general post-1970s/pre-2020s design as it modernizes it in a way that it keeps the essence of what makes Toucan Sam's general post-1970s/pre-2020s design work while freshing it up for an 2009 and 2010s Latino audience, even though it is stuck to being used in packagings as the Spanish Froot Loops commercials are just edited and dubbed versions of the English language ones. Though that could likely change in the future if Kellogg's Latin American divisions phase it out in favour of adapting the 2021 redesign seen in USA and Canada, especially as one of Kellogg's Mexico's Facebook posts feature the 2021 Toucan Sam design instead of Toucan Sam's LATAM design. It also does not help that some Latin American countries (like Chile ) also opted to phase out Toucan Sam's LATAM design due to those countries implementing laws that forbid companies from using mascots on food that is not healthy with black octagonal warning notices taking the place of any lovable mascots (including Toucan Sam), though Kellogg's in Mexico worked around this via creating Froot Loops Krunchers (an reduced sugar/reformulated version of Latin American Froot Loops which keeps Toucan Sam present on the box).

The 2020 redesign however, is an example how not to redesign characters familiar to people. No wonder why it was so controversial and backlash inducing. But it's a good thing it did not appear on Froot Loops packaging with Kellogg's instead redesigning Toucan Sam again in 2021 for the USA and Canada. This is the only time I will ever talk about Toucan Sam's controversial 2020 redesign on this site.

I do wish the raw HQ (and non-JPG) images of Toucan Sam in his LATAM design in their entirety were released publicly, especially as that render of Toucan Sam in the 2000s American variant of his general post-1970s/pre-2020s design is too common to see on the internet.
