Description One thing I do with every new cast is I make a prototype before I offer them up for commisison. This is the newest cast. It's much larger than my other wolves, a lot more detail. This one is showing a WIP of drybrushing, an alternate method to airbrushing involving acrylic paint, paint brush, water, and yer hands to blend. It takes longer, less materials, and it's a bit more controlled. I have worked on this more since then. It has resin teeth, glass following eyes made by *Qarrezel and fur from several different places including DF and I'mstuffedfur. Sculpted and textured lip soon to follow. This will be for sale upon completion. (so keep an eye out later today for a journal)

really i think this look so very kool, i am a traditional painter, but learning fundmentals on airbrushing but i really really love the dry brush tech. it really adds so much to the depth of the curves of the head beautiful. i know i am ramblin on.and on..but sharpe i think this looks great my friend. i cant wait to see more always. congrad dear. i know airbrushing is awesome..(learning...beginnier hehe) but i really from an artistic standpoint think it really stands out and is very beautiful and realistic...

Sharpe19 In reply to lamelobo [2010-12-09 20:03:05 +0000 UTC]

Airbrushing is good. Dry brushing is really handy if it's too cold out to airbrush or you don't have the room/supplies. It's really easy to learn too Perhaps I'll live stream me doing it some time so folks can see.

Have you never done/heard of dry brushing fur before? You're a fursuiter I'd assume you'd know about it.

I will just say , please do not expect me to know every thing about fursuiting.ok.

ThoronWild In reply to sugarpoultry [2010-12-09 20:09:47 +0000 UTC]

im a beginner I only have two suits and all with really cheep fur (no shading at all, im trying to learn to that's why im asking, ^_^ please dont expect me to know allot I only started fursuiting may this year but ive learnt allot from you and sharpe19 thank you, but I haven't made a resin head yet only foam and canvas. no I have not heard about dry brushing , but only dyeing and airbrushing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sugarpoultry In reply to ThoronWild [2010-12-09 20:31:25 +0000 UTC]

Resin has nothing to do with the fur. Sharpe19 has drybrushed fur and painted it on foam masks too. Just saying.

It's still super weird that you make all these fursuit/cosplay groups when you're so novice.

ThoronWild In reply to sugarpoultry [2010-12-09 20:44:26 +0000 UTC]

novice!, im merely a beginner. I was only wondering what the paint was for... , why we talking about what am I in this world about fursuiting! I have been creating costumes for years , just only recreantly I have started with the fur frbric(I make costumes with mechanisms and blinking eyes with other materials (simple costumes)and that I only just started n fursuits. do you under stand menow.

huh wouldn't that like clog it up? like its plastic paste isnt it? or is it a different type of acrylic? I only know the thick plastic paste stuff..

Sharpe19 In reply to ThoronWild [2010-12-09 19:59:48 +0000 UTC]

Thoron. Hun. Read the artists comment. I am not airbrushing this. It tells you what I did.

ThoronWild In reply to Sharpe19 [2010-12-09 21:07:19 +0000 UTC]

OHH sorry bad English (I know you use a paint brush to put it on, but dose'nt it like stick the fur together a bit like hair gel, since its like thick paste? or do you like have a different type of acrylic?)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sharpe19 In reply to ThoronWild [2010-12-10 08:31:18 +0000 UTC]

With any paint or dye it will stick the fur together a bit. You need to brush it to avoid most of that from happening.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ThoronWild In reply to Sharpe19 [2010-12-10 17:05:22 +0000 UTC]

oh ok, is it, like runny paint acrylic or do you use the thick acrylic stuff?

sorry its hard to talk im half polish

thank you and sorry to confuse you ^_^

ThoronWild In reply to Sharpe19 [2010-12-09 20:11:02 +0000 UTC]

no I didn't mean to say that, I meant wouldn't the acrylic like stick the fur together, its like a thick paste isnt it? or is the stuff you using different?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nathow111 In reply to ThoronWild [2012-12-26 23:26:42 +0000 UTC]

It will make the fur clump and stick together if you don't pay attention to what your doing. If you're careful and make sure not to use too much, and brush the fur to separate the hairs while you're working then it's a great way to color fur. It's really time consuming though.
