They are hard to get with ANY kind of lens.

Well, even though it is hard with that lens (I have a 17-55 myself and know how hard this can be) the picture is quite nice and very crisp. The only thing that could be better is the bokeh, so great job on this one!

yeah, the 18-55 doesnt do much in the bokeh department. got a 80-200 yesterday that i can manual focus with from a friend for a favor, so as of now it's better than nothing. Bokeh is much nicer on it.

the kind of butterfly? i assumed it was a monarch, i could be wrong though. lol, if i am, i think this needs a title change!

yes, a friend of mine ironically posted an almost identical shot in another place lol. Not a monarch and after refreshing my memory on what a monarch looks like, it's obviously not one. At least i know now
