Description Not all humans resented the arrival of the Khedai on Earth. Within a decade of the Conquest, almost every human on Earth enjoyed a standard of living that would once have been impossible for all but the very wealthiest. The alien overlords also did away with the vast majority of crime, corruption, and political violence. Possibly most important, they made absolutely no distinctions among their human "cattle," treating everyone on Earth with the same majestic impartiality. For billions of humans, life under the Khedai represented a vast improvement over their earlier circumstances.

Angelique Ndoye was one of these. Born in West Africa, of mixed French and Wolof ancestry, she came from a family that had adapted to life under the Hegemony very quickly. She received several genetic "improvements" before she was even born, and the best available education as she grew up. Today she serves the Hegemony as a specialist in human psychology, sociology, architecture, and urban planning.

She never planned to travel in space - especially in the company of an abrasive, Khedai-hating military man such as Richard Walker - but when the Hegemony calls, Angelique must go.

Technical notes: Second piece of work using DAZ Studio Pro. More practice with scene-building, posing, and lighting, applying a little more variety with each technique this time. Used a skin-shader building package to produce Angelique's skin tone, eyes, nails, and makeup. Planet backdrop was again produced from scratch using Photoshop. Total time required was about 6-8 hours.

Character model: Genesis 2 Female by DAZ 3D, with Skin Builder Pro for textures.
Sci-fi bodysuit by Xena.
Boots by Tentman.
Corridor modules by Stonemason.
Software used: DAZ Studio Pro 4.6, Photoshop.

Nowhere for the moment, unfortunately. I've tried to sell a couple of stories with (a later version of) this character to the pro markets, without any luck so far. I'm considering revising one of them and self-publishing it before much longer.
