Got a little carried away with this piece but I feel the additional crosses help deliver the feeling I'm attempting.A blind spot, scotoma, is an obscuration of the visual field. In this case I feel the blind spot many have is the one that organized religion tries to fill with their views and intolerance and bigotry masked in the "word" of God. Make no mistake, I believe in an after life I just don't believe in the church.
Created on panel board, charcoal, acrylics, and jewelry.

I do have to agree Shawn. I too believen a God and an afterlife, but Jesus never spoke of intolerance that many "cristians" seem to believe.

I agree with you that the church did and does make a lot of mistakes and I love the artistic part of this piece, but... you can't equate the cross with the church. Some of the "churches" are evil shit, but Jesus is a genius.

The Church still exists. The Crusades and the inquisition are medieval fucking history. They are not an example of something wrong with the church. Not unless you're living hundreds of years ago and are typing on DA with some magic time-warp computer.

Sorry, I'm not here to argue.
I will however tell you why most people don't like the church to stop any further arguments and to answer your original question.
It's simple really, so simple even children come to this conclusion.
The "church" is an organization based on fear.

Children may come to that conclusion because children don't think critically. If you would only join the church out of fear, speak for yourself. I think many people join out of good, analytical thinking.

thank you so much for the kind words. And no need to put god in parenthesis, I'd like to think there is a God and afterlife but I won't allow a church to tell me their way is the right way to worship
