Description
A lot of feeling went into this painting. I've had a lifelong problem with depression and sometimes painting is a good outlet for my feelings.Related content

MOISES!!! Good to hear from you. I must say that it was real pleasant talking to you the other day in NY. I'm home now and processing a WHOLE LOT of 3D stuff.......I'm going to try to start a Flickr page just dedicated to my 3D stuff. I'll try to remember to send you a link when I get it done. Some of the images I've processed have come out SPECTACULARLY!
Take care.
Shawn

wow this is brilliant. really good lighting and shading. The design is great because it looks like it could actually be built. I can see the feeling in this image, im a huge fan of images of robots expressing themselves, for example here it has a fixed expression, yet to me it looks tortured by its confusion of its own feelings

And you should be! It's amazing! I can tell it nestles some powerful emotions for you. How did you get the background so saturated and black?

I've dealt with severe depression almost all my life and this picture really expresses some of the emotion of that experience.
As to the black.........well, a long time ago the paint was that black but 18 years and not so careful storage left their marks...literally! Plus, I put a gloss coat on many of my paintings and they are simply impossible to shoot without getting reflections from the tiny bumps and such from the paint. Sooo, I went over much of the painting and retouched it with Photoshop to return it to what it once was.

As a wize man once said: depression breeds creativity. This is a masterpiece!
Ahh. I see. I thought it was almost a bit computer-ish. Paintings tend to tell a story of their life as well in their bumps and marks...
I am still stunned to see this. I can't look at it for too long - or else I become obsessed with it Brilliant. Simply brilliant!

Reminds me of Isaac Asimov's Robot Vision, for some reason. There were a couple of really depressing stories in that collection, I guess...
Anyway, great work, especially on the lenses and the cable in his throat
