Nice technique. That's the first time I've seen a mixed media with soft drink. I like it.

I quite like it, actually. Is the portfolio for getting work, or are you planning to go to art school or something?

No, I'm graduating from an Illustration program over up in Canada, haha, so getting work would be nice!

Hahhaah maybe, I'm pretty difficult, I'm a very colourful, eccentric person, but all my artwork tends to be dark and fucked up... by default I really hope I can find a niche that I'll be comfortable with, how is Australia doing these days?

Colourful personality, dark work, sounds like an interesting contradiction. Sometimes I think doing art gives you a chance to be somebody else for a while. It can be kind of schizophrenic. It would be great to work as an illustrator, but I know it's a competitive market. Australia is probably one of the worse places for doing art. Very difficult to make money out of it, small population and that, but yeah, other than that, it's quite a nice place to live.

Yeah, its too bad australia really seems isolated/cut off from the art world, i dont know how true this is, but i used to chat with a fellow from.. I think he was Sydney, not sure, he wanted to work in the game industry, but he said it was very difficult to find work... I live in montreal eidos, ubisoft, wb, ea all have studios here, there are probably more, but the gaming industry is booming over here, I would of liked to work as a concept artist, but i have some health issues that prevent me from doing to much repetitive, strenuos computer work (especially in my hands, hope i dont develop carpal tunnel) so ive switched over to traditional art predominantly.

You're lucky if you have all that choice when it comes to prospective employers. Here, as your friend says, it's not nearly as good from that perspective. Too bad about your health issues, but if that leads you to become a better traditional artist, then at least you're making the most of the situation.
