Oh cool.
At the minute I'm just experimenting with brushes, the wind distortion effect and generally guassian blurs and softening/sharpening.
I don't believe I've tried channels.

It was difficult because the the image is not generally cut out like it is above. It has a background and trying to get rid of it so it left only the bow was nearly impossible because of the pixels and colour..Which is why it's not clearly cut

Ooch! I see. That would present problems with Sun Shang Xiang's chakram too...if she hadn't been changed to an archer as well.

I'm thinking about doing a SSX one.
And no doubt it will present the same sort of problems.

Does JASC have a zoom function strong enough to let you do pixel by pixel work?

It does zoom in very well, but the pixels become disorientated, and when you did pixel by pixel, it tends to look very sharp and choppy.

I haven't ever tried Photoshop, and I've heard it costs quite a bit of money.

It depends on how serious you are about art. If you really get into it, Photoshop is a worthwhile investment. If you're playing around, and enjoying the tools you've got, you may as well save the money for better things.
