is the original creator of the artwork I based this off of.He deserves full credit for it.
I just made my own version of it, but I didn't think to ask for permission before doing it.
No art theft was intended in the slightest.

Not too be too much of a contrarian, but I've gotten this all sorted out with the original artist. He's completely fine with this.
I didn't ask for permission before I submitted it, no, but I should've.
Even then, I clearly gave the original artist full credit in the description. I never said that this was my own original idea; I just redrew something he did.

Man don't feel bad about taking inspiration from somewhere and using references. A lot of people go on about "art theft" without realising how people learn how to draw in the first place. If someone copied a pose I did I would be over the moon. Also the whole concept of collages is dependant on cutting up other work and making something original...
True "originality" is a false concept, however innovation isn't.
If you are worried the best thing to do is be transparent, just make a bibliography at the bottom of the post with your references. I have written enough essays to know how bibliographies work, there is a defacto standard in the academic writing world that makes this whole fiasco so much simpler. And it would be great to try and move that over to the fan art world too.

I use a Wacom tablet.
And I use Sai over photoshop primarily because my computer cannot run photoshop.
...I have a pretty bad computer. :c

hmmm what type of Wacom do you use? And mine's not to great either so i was planning on SAI, I prefer it over photoshop; but I have used both.

I hate art thieves as much as any artist, and I would never ever purposely try to steal anyone's art.
You had every right to be pissed. I know I probably would've if I thought someone had ripped off MY art (which people HAVE done, btw).
