Today August 7, 2011 saw the early start to the storm season for eastern Australia everyone seemed to be expecting. This was quite a nice storm for this time of year, lots of lightning and even pea sized hail. I tried out my new ND filter to try for some daylight lightning, cant wait for more storms to try this out on.In the background is Mutton Bird Island of Coffs Harbour NSW

Good plan might be a bit scary up there if the lightnings close but, got a long way to walk back to shelter would be awesome up there though. btw I shot this from a BBQ shelter just on the left hand side below the fishing club. Its awesome because you can shoot even in heavy rain! Only thing is you can only see north and east.
