Description
Although named Amor Intellectualis, after a poem from the 19th Century (penned by the unforgettable Oscar Wilde), this gorgeously lush necklace was originally inspired by an equally lush and magnificent Court Gown worn by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, wife of Tsar Nicholas Romanov II, circa 1890.

"Oft have we trod the vales of Castaly
And heard sweet notes of sylvan music blown
From antique reeds to common folk unknown:
And often launched our bark upon that sea
Which the nine Muses hold in empery,
And ploughed free furrows through the wave and foam,
Nor spread reluctant sail for more safe home
Till we had freighted well our argosy.

Of which despoilèd treasures these remain,
Sordello's passion, and the honied line
Of young Endymion, lordly Tamburlaine
Driving his pampered jades, and more than these,
The seven-fold vision of the Florentine,
And grave-browed Milton's solemn harmonies."

This necklace is 95% made up of Sapphires! Yeah baby! Sapphires namely Rare Pink Sapphire Rondelles, Baby Bue Sapphire Nuggets, Pink Sapphire Nuggets, Royal Blue Sapphire Rondelles and SUPER STUNNING Madagascar Rubies. Those exquisitely faceted Rondelles around the pendant are Rare Moss Aquamarine and will totally blow you away! Teeny tiny 925 Sterling Silver Beads rim the edges of the smaller focals for subtle bling.

Amor Intellectualis has been gently oxidized a la au naturel with boiled eggs, patiently buffed with steel wool and polished for a smooth shine. Yummy, yummy, yummy!

Amor Intellectualis' pendant measures approximately 1.25" tall by 1" wide. Her luscious streams of handmade Bali Silver Chains are adjustable from 20" to 22.5" and she secures with a Hand-Forged Clasp. Both 999 Fine and 925 Sterling Silver Wires were used in the making of Amor Intellectualis, in various gauges, approximately 50ft in totality actually.
